Domestication

Have you ever taken that love language quiz?  I have taken it before but I just took it again tonight and nicely asked forced  Bryan to take it.  My top love language is words of kindness, while my husband's is acts of service of service.  If there was a side note under that it would be MAKING DELICIOUS MEALS.

We lived with my grandparents for a little while and it was fantastic because my grandma made wonderful homemade meals daily.  Once we moved out, I realized I needed to step it up and become more domestic.  Unfortunately I was pregnant when we moved out and most cooking smells did not do good things to my GI system.  Then I was in survival mode with a newborn.  Recently I realized that since we weren't living with grandma anymore, I needed to step it up or the husband would wither away and my love would be unexpressed!   No more quesadillas every night for dinner (even though we are still obsessed with them.)  I realized I actually enjoy cooking.  It's not that dreaded chore I thought it would be and can actually be fun and creative.  It doesn't hurt that my husband is incredibly gracious with everything I make even when burnt or bland.  He knows how to get what he wants.

I encourage you to take the little quiz you haven't already.  While I write my husband notes and wonder why he doesn't very often, I realize he is doing things for me all the time and that the way we express our love just differs a little.    For me, learning to cook has done awesome things for our marriage.

What is your love language?
PS, Bryan is training little Busty to be a Giants fan at a young age.
**Quick History of the nickname.
When in the womb:
Amy: What should we name our son? (asking for the billionth time)
Bryan: Buster (after Buster Posey, the national league rookie of the year last year who led the Giants to the World Series title!!!!!!!!) -husband helped me with that last statement if you couldn't tell-

Then he became Buster in the womb, shortened to Busty, and lengthened to little Busty Pants by by lovely sister Kara.  Random, I know.

ahem!
i could be mistaken... BUT (IM NOT) Kara informed me that she started calling little McKay, "Busty pants" b/c she called me crusty/crusty pants and it reminded her of my nick name and it just felt right. so enough of this "he was named after a baseball player". let's me honest for one second and realize he was nicknamed after his aunt crusty pants! YEAH! Thank you! ill take all credit!
